WooCommerce is undoubtedly among one of the best plugins present in WordPress plugin repository till the date. It has very unique features, set of options and payment gateways integrated and so on. One can easily setup his store within 5 to 10 minutes using WooCommerce plugin. Apart from all these points, the best feature about WooCommerce is it is absolutely free. ( Afterall, we all like free stuff with more features 😉 )

Although WooCommerce have all these advantages, one will surely think twice before using WooCommerce for his WordPress site. The reason is though WooCommerce is free, it lacks some very basic set of functionality. There is a huge set of add-ons present in WooCommerce official store to compensate those missing features, but customers have to pay for those features and whether one will agree or not these add-ons are quite expensive. You may rise the question that, one can surely spend on something from which he is earning. But to invest on something you have to earn something first ! ( Don’t you think so 🙂 )

Among set of some missing features in WooCommerce, one of the very important feature is Exporting Orders from WooCommerce in csv. For one who is running an online store, this feature is very obvious and required. I look around and surf the internet to a good extent to find if there is any plugin or script available for exporting the WooCommerce orders, but sadly nothing great was found by me. Some plugins are there but those are paid and that too above USD 35. For such a basic feature this is quite high cost.

I decided that I can easily build a basic plugin for exporting orders from WooCommerce store. So I started building the plugin and finished the same within one week, after testing it for some days I decided to upload it to the WordPress plugin repository for absolutely free of cost. Plugin has been named as WooCommerce Simply Order Export.

https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-simply-order-export/

WooCommerce Simply Order Export gives the user freedom to export the orders in csv format. This plugin adds one more setting tab to WooCommerce setting page named as “Order Export”. Plugin has some options which gives you flexibility of choosing which fields to export in csv. You can simply check those fields.

WooCommerce Simply Order Export Settings Page.
WooCommerce Simply Order Export Settings Page.

WooCommerce Simply Order Export plugin exports the order for certain duration, you have to choose start date and end date, so it will export orders within that duration including start date and end date.

This plugin exports customer name, products details ( Including quantity, product name and variation details ), amount paid for order, email of customer and order status. Product details will be like, if you sell T-shirts which has variation attributes size and color. Then it will export product details as 2 Puma T-Shirts ( Size: M, Color: Red ), where 2 is quantity of that particular product.

This plugin is flexible, code is according WordPress codex guideline, easily customizable and absolutely free. So what are you waiing for ! Just download it and give it a shot, but yes don’t forget to rate it if you like it 🙂

I installed and activated the plugin but can’t figure out how to use it. Should I go to Orders within WooCommerce and search for a button? Or do I somehow run the plugin elsewhere? I’m not that technical so a user-friendly guide would be nice

      Hello Joe,

      Thanks for using this plugin.

      Please refer this screenshot: http://s5.postimg.org/hzj9plf9z/Screenshot_from_2015_03_22_17_43_52.png

First go to WooCommerce->Settings after that click on Order Export tab as shown in image.

Once you are on settings page, first, check all the fields that you want to export and save those using ‘Save’ button at bottom. After this, select duration and export csv. 🙂

Let me know if this helps you.

      Thank you.

Thanks for this plugin, certainly is a good place to start if you want custom exports of orders. As you said, certain basic functions of Woocommerce are absent from the main plugin. Some of the add-ons are priced a bit excessively – I worked out that to get my shop running exactly as I wanted was about £500 for the extra plugins!
There are some extra features I would like on this plugin but you have made it incredibly simple to enhance myself.
Probably going to get 5* rating on WP once I have had more time to play with it.

    Hi ankit,
i tried to export the order. it created the csv file but it is showing html kind of code after opening.

another problem was when i deactivated the pluggin it showed following error msg.. is it a ptoblem?
The plugin generated 198 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin…

Plz suggest what can be done..

I use a plugin called Woocommerce Hear About Us. The customer selects how they heard about our website. I would like to modify your plugin to be able to export this “source” field to CSV.

I didn’t edit the plugin but thought about just inserting in the following code into the “woocommerce-simply-order-export-add-on/main.php” file:

    ‘wc_settings_tab_source’ => __(‘Source’, ‘woocommerce-simply-order-export’),

Would that allow me to select the Source to export? Somehow I doubt it would be that simple but thought I’d ask.

    I love this plugin. Thanks.

Have you checked the option and Save them first before clicking export button?

      Following are the steps:

      1. Mark fields as checked that you want to export.
      2. Click Save Changes button.
      3. Select period.
      4. Click Export CSV button.

Let me know if this works for you.

First, thanks for your kind words about plugin. I am also glad that you understand that it is because of some marketing strategies. If you will click the “Hide Notice” it will appear next day, so basically notice will be displayed on daily basis. It is temporarily essential because it may happen that user hides notice and later needs to go to add-on page if he wants essential feature of the add-on, so to help him navigate to add-on page, notice will be displayed on daily basis. I am planning to do this at some point on which this plugin becomes quite familiar to the users.

However, you can use following hack to permanently hide the notice.

      – Go to /classes/class-wsoe-admin-notices.php file

      – Comment this line by adding // at start
      wp_schedule_event( time()+30, 'daily', 'wsoe_call_notices' );

      – Hide the notice. Now notice will not appear again.

Hope this is clear and helps.

Thanks for creating this plugin. I was looking forward to using it but it seems it does not work for me. I will try and see whether it’s the lack of wordpress or theme updates (the theme was no longer continued so we cannot update WP hence the new site being built and I was to export the old orders) or if it’s a plug-in clash.

I can see the checkboxes and also the Advanced tag (which doesn’t do anything when I click on it) and that’s it.

Will let you know if I find a clash and resolve it.

Hi… I’m using this plugin and also purchased the Add on for adding more fields. I need the Shipping Address in particular, but for this field I get the whole address with comma separated values for each element of the address. For example:
Name Last Name, Street and Street Number, ZIP Code, City, Province (or State), Country

All of these elements are already present in other fields and I would prefer the Shipping Address field to contain only the Street and Street Number. I’m trying to find a way to print out the shipping labels from a Spreadsheet on Google Drive. My workflow would be the following:

    1. Export orders form WP with your plugin.
    2. Import CSV file to Google Drive spreadsheets
    3. Fine tune the addresses
    4. Export a new CSV file for use with the Brother QL570 label printer.

Maybe I can use a custom field to create this? How do I locate the Field Key and Name ?

Thanks for your help… great plugin!!!

After selecting the start and end date, and pressing the export orders button, you can see the button change as you click it but then nothing happens. No file is exported, I change the dates and that makes no difference. I know that we have made sales during the period I have selected.

The plugin export has changed… now the order id isn’t the actual order id, it’s the system id, and the transaction id’s are gone, even though i have them selected. And the year old issue of the columns not lining up with the export data is also still present. Man, you have something good, but you have to clean it up.

Trying to export, I get the progress spinner for a few hours, but never get prompted to download a file.

Happy to give you access to the site to see why. It’s sort of an emergency 🙁

    No date?

I did a small export and only after doing so realized that there is no date field. I need that to analyze customer behavior.

Upgraded from 2.0.8 to 2.1.7 on our staging site and it totally borked wp-admin. The website itself is ok, just the WP admin part gets a error 500.
Any advice on how to rectify this?
    Thanks.

    Hi Ankit,

I am using WooCommerce plugin and its saying “WooCommerce Simply Order Export: This plugin is compatible with WooCommerce 3.0.0 and higher, you are using WooCommerce 2.5.5, please update WooCommerce to latest version (recommended) OR downgrade this plugin to version 2.1.6 (not recommended)”.

Kindly guide through the process how can I downgrade “WooCommerce Simply Order Export”. plugin. Thanks in advance!!
